Better way to do is paint the white line to yellow solid line to be not to change lanes that will reduce the accident.

then slow down and put your blinker on before you change lanes and people wont pull out........bet you change lanes without the blinker.....

David has this one right. Use your blinker to signal a lane change. This common courtesy is unfortunately not common in metro Detroit.

If you wait until all traffic clears, you will never get out. Why don't you be observant about what is ahead of you. Just because the lane is clear does not mean that someone cannot enter that lane. An open lane means that people CAN and WILL enter it.

Waiting for 4 lanes to clear is not necessary. If motorists use their blinkers & are courteous to others on the road this problem would be remedied.

We should have spent the Golden Butthole money on installing catwalks over M59 so people can cross M59 to shop both sides of the street
