I just opened my npqtio door again to see if I could breathe some fresh air only to have to shut it quickly for the thick string sewage stench! Nobody is more angry than I am!

The city government says what you want to hear just like the mayor and the city manager! It's not going to be fixed this year or next and if you think it is that's a joke! They don't care none of them care. If they did I wouldn't have been turned down by the board of reviews on lowering my taxes! I'm sick of the BS and what appears to be lies!
The people that buy the condos being built by the cemetery are in for sewage stench! I hope their are some suits for this problem!

Wow!! The smell is really strong tonight. Last weekend during the "Great Downtown Event" there was not a hint of an odor. But, this weekend is probably the worst since last winter. Yikes!!

Three months of a fairly strench free existence has been interupted by two nights of some of the foulest odors yet. It is actually getting inside the house. This structure has been in my family for nearly over a half a century, it has never been this bad. Ridiculous!

It appears that Brian Marl our Mayor and city manager Todd Campbell as well as the city council could care less! They take their time to say oh my maybe there is a smell! This city is not going to do anything about the stench just like the last 25 years of mayors who are never done anything. Ask a prior mayor who lived on Annwood ct and sold his house to get away from the stench! He knew about the the smell, the high fence and the compnsentina wire around it. Everyone on staff has over looked thispeoblem for over Twenty five years and have now left this in our laps to never be able to enjoy our homes and property of which we continue to pay High taxes on a piece of property we can't use!
Tonight is bad and it has been for twenty five years! Hate is a strong word but I hate this city, the powers at be who don't do a dam think about fixing the sewage stench! they don't care about us having to breathe it and end up on oxygen for being forced to take into our lungs this awful chemical st much!
If you all don't step up and sue this dam city then why talk about it?

Ms. Armbruster, I have lived in Saline for 54 years. I grew up in this house and have since raised my family here. The WTP has really only been an issue since it was enlarged and "improved." I believe in letting the city know there is a problem, however, your claims are, in my opinion, slightly over the top. I feel the city is addressing the issue that was allowed to get out of hand. They just need to keep the scrubbers running until a permanent solution is put in place.

David it appears you dont live next to the sewer plant as Bonnie Armbruster does.It has been terrible for her home area for years. I still dont beleive we should be dunping outside septic tank sludge into our system.

Mary, I've lived in Crestwood Knolls for over 50 years. I went to school with your boys. It is bad, and I agree they shouldn't be using our septic system for outside waste, I just don't believe in Hyperbole. You live on off Pleasant Ridge much further from the plant than I do. It wasn't this bad until about 15 years ago.

David, you are right but it started to smell in Old Creek Area about four years ago. Canterbury about siix years ago, but our water bill has went up at least twice over the last few years. Dont forget the city is still thinking about adding more to our plant by serviceing areas outside the area.This is a much bigger health concern, than the possible parking problem. I beleive

Agreed. The health concerns haven't been answered and although we no longer need to soften our water, I would rather deal with that than deal with the odor. I also agree in regard to enlarging the existing plant, why not build another one in the townships and let them pay their fair share? As always the people in the city pay the taxes and the folks in York, Lodi, Pittsfield reap the benefits. I was sorry to hear about Jeff.

Thank you Mary Hess. Mary knows how bad it's been and for how many years for my home and property. Let's not forget Mary was on council for years and still attends meetings. Thank God for Mary.

The plant hasn't been right since they expanded it. Now it's even worse than ever! I'd like to invite you to come over and sit on my deck and see if I'm over the top! It appears I'm on a direct wind pattern but it's so bad all over town now. For Mary to smell it on Canterbury you know it's bad.
One night I drove around town to see how far I could smell the stench it was beyond the 4 corners and in both directions! Also down old creek, down Monroe St. etc.

I have not been able to use my yard or be out in it for 2 years. the stench has been so so bad and it even Comes inside of my home. Ask Mr. Roth how bad it is! But the city continues to raise my taxes for property that is of no use.

Mrs. Hess, I was a 1976 Graduate. A year or so ahead of David, my younger brother was closer to Jeff's age. We were all at Jensen together.

I am closing this issue because it has been quite a while since the odor has been really noticeable.
